1. Purpose and Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy sets out what you may not do with Local Flow. It exists to protect the homeowners your customers serve, the businesses on the platform, and the carriers, payment processors, app stores, and infrastructure providers we all depend on — each of whom can cut off service to everyone if the platform is misused.

It applies to every account, every user on an account, and everything sent, uploaded, or stored through the Service. It is incorporated into the Terms of Service, and violating it is a breach of those Terms.

If something is not listed here but is obviously abusive, it is still prohibited. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive.

2. No Illegal or Harmful Use

You may not use the Service to violate any law or regulation, a court order, a contract, or anyone’s intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights. That includes consumer protection, employment and wage law, telemarketing and messaging rules, payment-network rules, licensing and contracting requirements, and app-store policies.

3. Messaging and Spam

The SMS & Customer Communication Policy governs messaging in detail. In summary, you may not:

4. No Abuse, Harassment, or Discrimination

You may not use the Service to harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, shame, exploit, or abuse anyone — a customer, an employee, a competitor, or anyone else. You may not use it to discriminate against a person on the basis of a protected characteristic, including in who you agree to serve, what you charge them, or how you communicate with them.

5. No Fraud or Misrepresentation

You may not impersonate another person or business, claim credentials, licences, certifications, or affiliations you do not hold, or misrepresent what a service is, what it costs, or when it happened.

You may not falsify records in the Service — marking work complete that was not performed, backdating or altering job records to mislead, recording payments not received, or creating invoices for work that does not exist.

6. Reviews, Ratings, and Referrals

You may not write, solicit, or post fake reviews, offer anything of value in exchange for a positive review, condition a benefit on the rating given, or send review requests only to customers you expect to rate you well. The FTC treats incentivized and gated reviews as deceptive.

You may not manipulate referral features to generate rewards for referrals that did not happen.

7. Handling Other People’s Customer Data

The records in your account describe real people who trusted your business with their address, their phone number, and access to their home. Treat them that way.

8. Employee and Worker Data

The Service records information about the people who work for you, including schedules, job records, and location at the moment a job is marked arrived. You may use it to run your business. You may not use it to monitor a worker outside of work, to build a record for retaliation, or in any way that violates employment or privacy law in your state.

You are responsible for notifying your workers as your state requires — see the Employee & Worker Notice Template.

9. Photos and Property

You may not photograph or upload images of people without a lawful basis, photograph areas of a property unrelated to the work, upload images that reveal a customer’s security arrangements or valuables beyond what documenting the work requires, or publish a customer’s property or address without permission. See the Photo & Media Policy.

10. No Security Interference

You may not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service; attempt to defeat authentication, authorization, or rate limits; introduce malware; interfere with monitoring; or place a load on the Service designed to degrade it.

Responsible disclosure is welcome. If you find a vulnerability, tell us at Support@local-flow.app before disclosing it publicly, and do not access, alter, or retain anyone else’s data while investigating. We will not pursue action against good-faith research that follows those limits.

11. No Unauthorized Access or Credential Sharing

You may not access accounts, customer records, team data, photos, payment records, or messages you are not authorized to see, share credentials, or work around role-based permissions. Roles exist because not everyone in a business should see everything, and evading them is a violation whether or not any data is misused afterwards.

12. Use of AI Features

Where the Service offers AI-assisted drafting, the output is a draft for a person to review. You may not present an AI-generated estimate to a customer as a final price without reviewing it, rely on it as a professional diagnosis, or submit content to it that you do not have the right to share — including photographs of people or of a property you were not engaged to work on.

13. Sensitive and Regulated Content

You may not use the Service in connection with illegal products, controlled substances, weapons, adult content, gambling, deceptive financial services or debt collection, or other categories prohibited by carriers, payment providers, app stores, or law.

14. Payments and Financial Conduct

You may not use the Service to launder money, process payments for another business, split transactions to evade limits, initiate charges a customer did not authorize, or misrepresent what a charge is for. You must honor the refund and cancellation terms you give your own customers.

Where you offer third-party financing, the Third-Party Financing Policy applies. You may not apply for financing on a customer’s behalf, or enter your own contact details on a customer’s application.

15. Resale, Scraping, and Competing Use

You may not resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to a third party as a service bureau, scrape or bulk-extract data except through an interface we provide, or use the Service to build or benchmark a competing product.

16. Fair Use of Capacity

Accounts are for the business that holds them. You may not create multiple accounts to evade limits, seat counts, trial restrictions, or an enforcement action, and you may not automate use in a way that consumes capacity far beyond ordinary operation of a service business.

17. How We Enforce This Policy

We may investigate suspected violations, and depending on severity may: remove or block specific content or messages, restrict a feature, rate-limit an account, suspend messaging, suspend the account, or terminate it.

Where the situation allows, we will contact you first and give you a chance to fix it. Where there is an immediate risk to people, to security, or to our carriers or providers, we may act first and explain afterwards.

We may report activity to law enforcement, carriers, payment providers, or app stores where we are required to, or where we believe there is a risk of serious harm.

Suspension does not delete your data; see Terms of Service §19.

18. Appealing an Enforcement Decision

If we restrict, suspend, or terminate your account, you may appeal by emailing Support@local-flow.app. A person will review it, and we will respond with a decision and the reason. If the action was a mistake, we will reverse it and restore access.

19. Reporting a Violation

Report abuse, spam, security concerns, or policy violations to Support@local-flow.app. If you received an unwanted message, include the number and the approximate date.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. We are a software company and cannot respond to emergencies.
